Final Roster for the 2 Upcoming Games

Professor Rueda has given the final call up’s for the upcoming games against Trinidad and Tobago in San Pedro Sula, Honduras and against Mexico at Mexico City, Mexico.
The game against Trinidad and Tobago is Saturday, September the 5th at el Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano where Honduras will continue claiming respect at home.
The next match is days later, Wednesday September the 9th at the famous Estadio Azteca where Honduras is going to go after the Aztecazo.
The new roster showed up some new call ups, that of Edgar Alvarez (Bari, Italy) and Jerry Palacios (Marathon, Honduras). Edgar has been called up after all the turmoil that happened a couple of months ago, he is now ready to defend his colors. Jerry Palacios on the other side has demonstrated his potential and desire of being called up for the Seleccion. He demonstrated with sacrifice and most importantly with goals that he deserves to be called upon. He is currently the top scorer in Honduran soccer.
Finally the person that has been unheard of for a couple of months, is now back and ready to score a couple of goals with “La H.” That is none other than David Suazo. Although he hasnt had much minutes of play, Rueda includes him in the squad because he’s a man to always be aware off. Hopefully we can see him at his best on the 2 upcoming games.
Goalkeepers:
Noel Valladares
Donis Escober
Ricardo Canales
Defenders:
Mauricio Sabillón
Osman Chávez
Maynor Figueroa
Víctor Bernárdez
Edgar Álvarez
Emilio Izaguirre
Erick Norales
Carlos Palacios
Bonieck García
Midfielders:
Amado Guevara
Wilson Palacios
Rambo de León
Hendry Thomas
Ramón Núñez
Danilo Turcios
Melvin Valladares
Forwards:
Carlos Pavón
David Suazo
Walter Martinez
Carlo Costly
Jerry Palacios
Rumors place David Suazo and Carlos Pavon up front. Talk about some experienced attackers just like some years ago. Carlo Costly, Osman Chavez and Wilson Palacios are going to miss the game against Trinidad and Tobago because of bookings.
Predictions:
I am afraid of the home game against Trinidad and Tobago. They are considered a weak team but Honduras always end up giving away easy points againt these teams because of their overconfidence. We havent seen much of that since Rueda came so hopefully it does not happen on Saturday. If thats not the case, I predict a solid victory for our team.
Mexico on the other side is obviously a tougher team and also its an away game at non other than el Azteca. I don’t see us as bringing the 3 points home but I do believe in miracles. Scratching off 1 point would be like a victory. So I predict and hope we tie that game. After that, we can pretty much be talking about our possibilities for going to the world cup.
What do ya’ll predict about the games? What about the starting XI?

As a U.S. supporter I’ve seen plenty of Honduras this summer. If Suazo is healthy that adds a completely different dynamic to the team. I rate Costly ahead of Pavon at the striker position. And we all know what Palacios adds to the mix. I would like to see Honduras qualify because I think they have a very talented squad. And I think Costa Rica on the carpet would have a better chance of defeating the CONMEBOL side in the playoff. This is what I’d like to see how things finish up.
1. USA
2. Mexico
3. Honduras
4. Costa Rica
5. T&T
6. El Salvador
This is what I think how things will actually finish up.

if we beat T&T and Costa Rica beats Mexico then I doubt that we’ll finish 4th. Adelante Seleccion!

i believe that honduras will beat trindad and tobago. and i believe that honduras will pull a historic victory of mexico en el azteca. with pavon, sauzo, costly, rambo de leon, amado, nunez, and palacios will get the mexicans tired . honduras all the way.
i believe this is how the concaf is going to end.
1)Costa Rica
2)Honduras
3)Usa
4)mexico
5)el salvador
6)trindad and tobago

To pseudinho, I see how our soccer team is growing, you know a couple of names and are aware of the quality demonstrated on the pitch. I cant agree with you about saying that mexico will end up in 2nd place? how? I see Honduras and USA as being the leaders at the end but not mexico nor costa rica. But how knows, well see how things end up.
Vic not other than that we MUST scratch at least one point in the azteca.
Jonathan, where you from? I hope the soccer gods hear you about what you said of the aztecaso. If that does happen, we are sure to be at the World Cup, but not an easy task, not at all. Concerning your standings I dont see USA that far down the table having in mind they have 6 easy points against EL Salvador and TNT and then visit Honduras and last a home game against Costa Rica. WHatever the line ups are, I wish Honduras can be in the top 3!

Honduras will be in the top 3.. A good result with T & T.. Mexico next

Keep dreaming, praying, and wishing for the elusive “Aztecazo”, IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! And you know it. I’m glad that both teams are coming in playing their best futbol though so it should be a fun game. My prediction is El Tricolor 3 – Catrachos 1. Honduras will come out very agressive and will get burned on a counter by Gio and will force them to back off because they won’t want to give up too many goals to protect their +7 goal differential. VAMOS MEXICO!!!!!

I would like to say that Today is the big day. The day we have all been waiting for. 09-09-09. For 90 mins, Mexico and Honduras will fight for those points, and I am pretty sure that we will win. The Aztecazo is something inevitable, just like Agent Smith told Neo in the Matrix. Mexico will probably go to the World Cup with their influence in the Referees and in Concacaf. We are going to win today, it’s that simple.

i like ur confidence, but i dont think you will win.. The 2nd time we have gone through so this is our yr..

the 2nd time you have gone through where? i didnt understand that… I thought you were in favor of Honduras carol :S
