Preview for our last home game against the USMNT!

October 10th, 2009 | By: X-ino | 6 Comments »

Tonight is the night, our most important game we’ve ever had in this qualification. One win means three points which gives us a direct ticket to our main objective, South Africa.

Tonight, F*** the ´coup´, the wife, girlfriend, kid, work, problems, issues, everything. Tonight almost 8 million Hondurans will be cheering, suffering and hoping of a positive result. It is now or never, we must win this game or else we´ll have to go to El Salvador, win AND expect Costa Rica not to sum all 6 points.

It is clear that in order to win this match we have to play againts the USMNT toe-to-toe. The key is patience. We know how the Americans play every minute as if it was their last.

We have to take advantage of being at home were we havent lost a single game in the whole qualification period. Bob Bradley is aware of that, he knows that El Olimpico will be a hot cauldron. It wont be easy for the American players against all the pressure from the fans.

Both teams at this point are under pressure but probably Honduras is the one with more pressure to handle for being local tonight.

The World Cup is a dream for fans, players, managers, and every Honduran. Honduras needs this victory to heal our political wounds and not only that, all the suffering Honduras citizens undergo.

Honduras needs to seek an early goal just at the beginning. They need to put a lot of pressure upon the Americans from the early start. We must keep those three points!

Honduras, 8 million eyes are set upon you guys. 11 players will be representing our nation.

VAAAMOOOOS HONDUUUURAS!!! HOY VAAAMOOOS AL MUUUNDIALLL!!! COOON TOODO!!

Honduras put in a great effort. The offside call was debatable and if Pavon would have put either of those two efforts on target it would have been a different game. Don’t worry, Honduras isn’t out of this one yet (this coming from a US fan).

Thanks a lot megan, as a honduran fan it means a lot, the game was tight and close, and the opportunities missed in the first half, had its cause in the second half. i still dream of the world cup…

thanks a lot megan, we really deserved to at least tie the game against yoou guys but thats the way soccer is. hopefully you guys do us the favor of beating costa rica and honduras coming out with a victory at ES.

hugo, you keep worrying about costa rica. you are not on the world cup already. update your blog btw.

pissed off!! all great players miss penalties. just as he missed that tying score penalty, he has given honduras a lot of great goals and victories. there is no time for this, he will get up, he is a great professional.

I have faith in my time. I know the US wont let us down and the soccer gods will be fair and grant us a place in south africa.

Honduras got what they deserved… a loss. After having witnessed their style of game over and over (cheap shots, uncalled handballs, the fans intimidating referees, unsportsman-like behavior) I wished they would get eliminated. Hopefully, it will happen. Hopefully they will never get to set foot on South African soil. Players like Costly and Pavon are a blight on the sport.
Come on, El Salvador! Beat Honduras! And Costa Rica… whip the US. Just so that Honduras has to play Uruguay, or Argentina, or Ecuador, and get creamed.
This Honduras team is dreadful. Call up your u17’s for a change. Replace those sorry excuses for football players you have right now and get some professional and serious players instead. Cheats!
