Take a bow, now practice more…

Last night was a very monotone evening for much. But not for us, we the football fans appreciated what was one of the most exhilarating and nerve-wrecking match of the Hexagonal. Honduras and El Salvador played a very puzzling match. Both coaches experimented with what their teams are used to doing but at the end of the night we came out on top.
Reinaldo Rueda came out with a very familiar team last night, yet with a different mentality. Much would say El Salvador meant business with a very front-oriented team. Honduras’ fate could have been different if the role of the defenders wouldn’t have been carried out so impeccably. The offensive side on the other hand seemed to partake a much weaker role. The first half was pretty even if not for the goal Carlos Pavon scored early in the match.
The second half seemed to be a little less even. El Salvador came out with a heavy attack plan and carried it out almost flawlessly till it time to conclude plays. Honduras defended once again with much pride and I strive on this excessively, we have to credit our defense plenty for last night.
Post-match and all day long, most of the attention has revolved on a very relevant issue. The actual performance of the team and a resolution to carry out the project to secure a spot in the World Cup. Reinaldo Rueda was heavily criticized in a press conference. Much speculation pointed to the Honduran coach quitting. In the last hours the Honduran National Football Federation (FENAFUTH) has proven the rumors erroneous and false in all accounts.
The fact is that we are a great squad, we have many flaws and many values. It is very important for the squad to keep its head in place and to remain calm and together for the upcoming stage of the hexagonal.
That being said, VIVA HONDURAS.
